Dawn & Ken… “I married a rock star!”
January 13, 2008 |
Last fall we had the chance to video Dawn & Ken’s wedding at Westminister Presbyterian Church in Nashville. Dawn looked fabulous in her wedding gown. As the couple exited the church following the recessional, they got in their limo and went straight to their reception at the Musicians Hall of Fame in downtown Nashville.

The reception was one huge party with fantastic food and drinks. Their photographer, Joe Burlingame was great to work with. After a cocktail hour, Dawn and Ken entered the reception to the Linus theme song from Charlie Brown, they then did a first dance that could have been straight from Dancing with the Stars. Some funny toast, dinner and the cake cutting followed. Then Ken’s favorite band from his college days at UT, Mel and the Party Hats put on an awesome show.
Now I had gotten to know Dawn pretty well before the wedding, we exchanged several phone calls and emails about the video and I had met with her at the church to go over everything. Dawn is very friendly and outgoing. I didn’t get a chance to meet Ken until the wedding day. Ken is a doctor, he is super nice, a little more reserved, but he has another side, his inner rock star!
At the end of the bands’ first set Mel introduced a special surprise guitarist. Ken came on stage and rocked the house to Billy Idol’s White Wedding. Dawn had no idea this was going to happen. Now our typical highlight video is set to music the couple picks out, maybe their first dance song, or another special song. After shooting Ken’s performance, I knew I had to use this for their video. Check it out:
